Contract Flooring Supplies recently teamed up with the Dublin Institute of Technology’s third year interior design students on their commercial building project. The winner received a prize for their work which includes a trip to Belgium to see how modulyss carpet tiles are developed. The student’s work was amazing and with the help of course leader Neville Knott and award winning interior architect Paul Finnegan, we are delighted to announce Regina Byrne as the overall winner for this year with her healthy food company HQ.
Describing her project, Regina said, “The aim of the project was to design a company headquarters for a company of my choice, I chose The Pure Kitchen, a company which focuses on that of creating healthy meals for the busy working individual, available for home delivery, in the office and in store. For the design itself within the building, conceptual inspiration was taken from the windows which translated into that of the flooring layout and into the furnishings also. Keeping in with that of the company itself, earthy and natural tones were used for the colour scheme and floor choices, but I added a pop of citrus green to make it that little bit more fun for a working environment. Areas were designated by different floor colours and sectioned off with different floor colourings”
